German Staple

The “German Staple” raglan sleeve cardigan is exactly that – a wardrobe staple that goes with anything. It is light and airy and features the traditional garter stitch fabric with a small heart in stranded colour work on the back. I added a pink i-cord edging and wooden buttons, but with different buttons, a stocking stitch fabric and without the heart detail, this pattern can be used and re-used by you for many different looks, and for many years to come.

I would recommend this cardigan to intermediate knitters. Each step is thoroughly explained here and I am happy to help with any questions. If you are interested in further information about German traditional costume, please check out my website.
