Pete’s beanie is light and airy, yet very warm – but most importantly I was told that it reminds people of moss when he wears it! This is a quick knit and washes well in cool water. Enjoy!
Size M (54 – 56 cm) head circumference, Beanie measures 20 in length
Yarn: 50 g of Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal (95% wool, 5% cashmere) in colour 13 (Leaf) or use a similar sport weight yarn
Gauge: 26 stitches x 33 rows = 10 cm²
Needles: Metric size 2.5mm / US size 1.5 circular and double pointed needles throughout; beanie is knitted in the round

Instructions
- Cast on 129 sts with circular needle,
- K 1 row,
- Place sm at start of row to keep track of pattern sequence,
- Divide sts by placing evenly on each one of 4 dpn’s (32st / 32st / 32st / 33st),
- For ribbed edge, k k1, p2 until 5 cm are completed,
- Next, continue in pattern (see below) for 18 cm,
- In next row, dec sts: k every 1st and 2nd st together – 65 sts,
- Change to dpn,
- K 2 rounds,
- K every 2nd and 3rd st together = 44 sts,
- K 2 rounds,
- K every 1st and 2nd st together = 22 sts,
- Remove sm. Disconnect yarn by leaving yarn end of approx. 15cm, thread tapestry needle with yarn end and pull through all sts. Tighten and secure in a knot,
- Secure yarn ends.
